Eiffel Tower

I think my sugar buzz has finally worn off since our trip to Paris, so I was able to sit still long enough to edit some pics and put together a short blog post.

Ah. The Eiffel Tower. Yes...it is as amazing as you envision. This was the first place on my list to hit up. I have to preface this and tell you that Josh and I have this ongoing, internal struggle with hitting up all the touristy places in Europe. Do we do it? Don't we? You have to, right? At least the first time you are there.

So, we get to the Eiffel and of course there is not one, not two, but three ticket lines all at least an hour long. We look at each other and take a deep breath. This is why we are here. Let's get a couple baguettes and wait it out like the rest of the tourists.

After the first hour wait, we boarded the cable car and up we went. And, what they say about the French (or Europe) for that matter, is true. Being enclosed in a small cable car with no ventilation is not a good thing. Paris is beautiful, but stinky, stinky. Good thing the views were spectacular, so that kept our minds occupied.

We finally reach the very top after another 45 minute wait on the 2nd platform. I say it again, it was worth it. One piece of advice for anyone going to the Eiffel. Bring a little bottle of champagne with you that you can hide in your purse. We wanted to have a couple glasses, but for 10 Euros, we passed.

I have to admit it felt a little bit like Mexico sometimes. Anyone that has been there can tell you about "chicklet". Well, in Paris it is all about these miniature Eiffel Towers. They are everywhere. You can't get away from them no matter how hard you try. Un Euro. Un Euro. Why does it surprise me that anyone bought them?
